Please join Faith & Family Hospice to learn more about the Hospice Medicare Benefit. Dr. Corey Saltin, DO, Medical Director, will facilitate this informational discussion.

They will discuss the many misconceptions of hospice that prevent people from taking advantage of the Hospice Medicare Benefit. 

Discussion Points Include:

  • What is Hospice?
  • How do you become eligible for hospice benefits under the Medicare Hospice Benefit? 
  • Why hospice now?
  • How is it paid for?
  • What is covered / not covered?
  • Who is my care team?
  • Where can I receive hospice care?
  • How are loved ones supported after the patient passes?

Dr. Saltin, DO, is a seasoned Hospice expert and Medical Director for Faith & Family Hospice. He has 24 plus years of experience in critical care, internal and pulmonary medicine and is currently working in the ICU at UMass Memorial Hospital. Throughout his career, Dr. Saltin, DO, has demonstrated a deep commitment to patient-centered care, particularly in guiding patients and families through end-of-life decisions with compassion and respect. With his extensive background, he brings a unique perspective on the integration of hospice into complex, medical cases. Dr. Saltin, DO, is dedicated to dispelling the common myths about hospice care and helping the public understand the services that will help to improve quality of life during advanced illness. 

Laurie Rhodes, Patient & Family Liaison and Certified Dementia Practitioner with Faith & Family Hospice, brings over 35 years of experience in the hospice field. Laurie is passionate about the importance of understanding end-of life care options well before they are needed. Her mission is to empower individuals and families to make informed proactive decisions about their care, emphasizing that they have the right to choose who guides them in this special type of support.
