Event Details

The Medal of Liberty is an award from the state of Massachusetts to the next of kin of men or women from the commonwealth who were killed in action, died of wounds or died as a prisoner of war or during military operations in a time of war.

The Medal of Fidelity is an award from the state of Massachusetts to the next of kin of men or women from the commonwealth who died as a direct result of their service from things such as agent orange, asbestos exposure, burn pit exposure, PTSD related suicides and 9/11 ground zero exposure. 

The ceremony will honor the service and sacrifice of 13 veterans from WW1, Korea and World War 2, who will be receiving the Medal of Liberty, and 3 veterans whose service in Vietnam led to their deaths form agent orange exposure later in life, who will be receiving the Medal of Fidelity. 

Join the Marlborough Department of Veteran's Services and the Marlborough Historical Society as we honor these brave service members from Marlborough. Please note that seating will be prioritized to the families of those receiving medals.
